Studiome and Newspepper’s new tech show

Studiome has been commissioned to direct and edit a new internet show called TechFluff.TV for London entrepreneur’s Hermione Way, of ‘Newspepper.com’, and Josh March of ‘The iplatform’. Noticing a niche for a show of this kind to cater for the burgeoning London Social Networking scene, the two young impresarios garnered sponsorship from the likes of Sun Micro Systems to back the idea. Techfluff.TV will be a weekly show, launching in early December. We will keep you updated with its progress.

Online Studio

Here’s an interesting web site. Loft City markets itself as the world’s first online film studio (although Studiome has something to say about that). It boasts all sorts of features, like allowing you a project area, which serves as an online office where you can keep your crew informed and trade script ideas etc. It’s a multi-purpose site where you can upload material, manage your projects and assemble crew with their online database, amongst other things. Maybe the likes of Columbia and WB will be sitting up and listening soon.

Award-winning animation

Having spent last night catching up with old friends from ‘The Mill‘ in Soho, I was reminded of the number of young creatives who are taking the industry by storm. Here’s a short animation by a good friend of mine, Ed Shires: Solar-the-film.

Interesting Film-making site

I don’t know about you but today actually felt just the tiniest bit like summer. I seem to remember last year we were basked in sun for a couple of months in spring, only to be drenched again in summer. ‘Global warming’, everyone said…it’s a good thing that we’ve found a new scapegoat- I was planning on blaming the fact that I can’t stop eating cheese and ham toasties on pollution too; I’m sure I can twist it somehow.

Anyway, enough of my cynicism, here’s an interesting site for aspiring filmmakers. You can create a profile, upload your shorts (short films, not bemudas) and take part in regular competitions. There are many sites like this sprouting up on the old t’internet, and I’ll keep you abreast of the best on this here blog.  Chow for now.
