For those of you that don’t think there’s much in the way of social media groups in the area, take a look at the GMG website. They organise events, workshops and various other media related extravaganzas for the Gloucestershire region. I went to my first workshop last night at the Cheltenham film studios and made some great contacts, including an up-and-coming pair of web video and motion graphics gurus based near Bristol called BexMedia.

Virgin are running a lucrative film competition for unseen filmmaking talent. There is a chance to win £30,000 for your next film commission. To be in with a chance you have to enter a film of under 2mins long. For more details check out there website.

There’s a great little site for listening to or uploading new music (depending on whether you’re a fan or an artist) here. It’s called thesixtyone. It’s quite complicated to work out how to use but more innovative than something like myspace. See what you think.
