Counterpoint

Studiome was commissioned to produce an engaging, informative and personable promotional video for an online reputation monitoring tool, Counterpoint. The animation tells the story of how Counterpoint came to be, through the narration of it's Founder, Matthew Cain.

Techfluff.tv

This is an episode from a new, weekly internet show called Techfluff.tv. Studiome was approached by young entrepreneurs Hermione Way, of Newspepper.com, and Josh March, founder of iPlatform, to form a three-way partnership on this exciting project. Techfluff.tv is a weekly round-up of what's hot and what's not on the UK Web Tech Start-up scene. It is filmed, edited and directed by Studiome.

10Yetis

A young, up-and-coming PR/Design company called 10 Yetis asked Studiome to produce a quirky showreel for their website and to use at pitches. They had numerous newspaper/magazine/web cuttings of where their clients had appeared that needed to be conformed into a slick short film. The decision was made to use the company name as the basis of a 3D animated exhibition of what they had achieved, and then combine this with snappy motion graphics and editing.

Maya was used for the 3D work, with the elements being composited together in After Effects and Photoshop. Final Cut Pro was then used to edit the video.

Dan & Lisa's wedding day

Here is a short sample of Dan and Lisa's special day. The style is documentary-esque, aiming to capture the essence of the occasion and the characters involved and stay clear of the 'glossy' images that you tend to associate with wedding videos.

It was shot with an HDV camera but you have to remember that, due to the compression process, any video uploaded to the web inevitably loses a lot of quality (otherwise you wouldn't be able to download it - the file size would be huge). To view a full-resolution sample, get in touch via the 'contact' page and you can order a DVD.

Gretton Motors

This promotional video was shot with a Sony V1E HDV camera and edited in Final Cut Pro, with a little help from Shake.

Gretton Motors is a relatively small enterprise, specialising in repair and maintenance of Landrover vehicles. We wanted to capture the welcoming atmosphere, sincerity of the staff and the skill and knowledge which they have garnered through the many years in which they have been providing their services.

We chose to produce a mini-documentary because the style suited what Gretton Motors represent: real people with real skills, not just a faceless multinational.

Gonky Bill

This short film follows the trials and torments of ex- Red Arrows pilot, Gonky Bill. It was a university project, shot on a standard mini DV camera, incorporating elements of Flash and super 8 footage.

Pigeons

Here are some scenes from a 40min mockumentary I made about a Welsh Falklands veteran, who also happens to be a pigeon.

It was shot in HDV using a Sony FX1E camera and then edited in Final Cut Pro.

More to come soon...
